Dr. Leslie Arno, Psy.D.

Outpatient Clinical Director

Dr. Arno was trained psychoanalytically through the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, where she received her MA and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She now incorporates contemporary psychoanalytic theory with Buddhist and mindfulness based techniques in her work with clients as well as supervision of clinicians.

Dr. Arno has worked in community mental health since 1998. Prior to 1998, she directed after-school programs on the Peninsula, working directly with children, adolescents and families within the educational system. She then provided case management and clinical support to the youth population of Marin County for Big Brother’s Big Sister’s of Marin for several years before her doctoral studies. During her scholastic pursuits, she received clinical training at St. Luke’s Hospital working with acute mental health clients in crisis, Cleo Eulau, an agency providing therapy to adolescents in the juvenile court system, and lastly in community mental health for the Wright Institute Clinic, Access Institute, and Sonoma State University.

She completed her post-doctoral hours as a registered psychologist for Marin Services for Women, an agency providing inpatient and outpatient therapy to women with addiction, trauma and co-occurring disorders, specializing in eating disorders. She then worked in eating disorder treatment for New Dawn, eventually becoming clinical director for Baysdie Marin and Atherton Trail, both offering co-occurring substance abuse treatment. She loves supervising clinical staff and aiding in the professional development of clinicians.
